Join us at the upcoming H2 Market Meetup webinar as Geir Helgesen, Principal Scientist at the Institute for Energy Technology (IFE), shares research-based insights into the possibilities and challenges of transporting hydrogen gas through smaller-scale pipelines.
Hydrogen transport over medium distances, typically in the kilometer range, can be an efficient solution for connecting electrolyzers to end users. However, poor pipeline design may lead to significant pressure losses and unwanted temperature changes. In this session, Helgesen will explore how these issues arise and how they can be mitigated through better system design and modeling.
With a strong background in material physics and renewable energy systems, Helgesen currently leads projects focused on optimizing hydrogen refueling stations and modeling hydrogen as an energy carrier. His experience combines academic depth with practical applications in the hydrogen field.
