Torstein Thorsen Ekern, Senior Project Manager at Greenstat ASA, will present the Agder Hydrogen Hub — a large-scale green hydrogen production facility developed to support the decarbonization of industry and transport. He will share insights into the project's development journey, including permitting, infrastructure, construction progress, and the roadmap toward commercial hydrogen production and future expansion.
Kjell Løvold, CEO of Hydrogen Storage AS, will discuss how magnesium hydride can enable safe, compact, and cost-effective hydrogen storage — a technology with strong potential for decarbonizing shipping, metallurgy, and other industrial sectors that depend on a reliable hydrogen supply.
Together, they offer a rare look across the hydrogen value chain — from how Norway is scaling up production of green hydrogen, to how that hydrogen can be stored safely and efficiently for use across industries.
Speakers: Torstein Thorsen Ekern is Senior Project Manager at Greenstat ASA, with over 20 years of experience in renewable energy, project development, and business growth. He leads the development of large-scale green hydrogen initiatives such as the Agder Hydrogen Hub.
Kjell Løvold is a physicist educated at NTNU, with a PhD in Metallurgical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines and an MBA from Columbia University. He has held research positions at SINTEF and CNRS in Grenoble, and leadership roles in industry at Norsk Hydro, Norcem, Icopal, and Norfolier.
