- In short - what does FloatOcean do?
FloatOcean AS registered in Norway with engineering facilities in Chennai India is a part of AstraTech Holdings of India. AstraTech Group engages over 1800 employees across its group companies in India and is involved in Engineering Design and PMC for projects in the areas of Oil & Gas, Ports and Harbours, Water Resources, Embedded systems, Hydroponics and Green Technologies. FloatOcean provides detailed engineering services for Process, Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil and also executes projects for construction support, operation and maintenance.
- What are your goals for business in the hydrogen market for the upcoming year?
AstraTech Group company is currently performing the detailed engineering for a 10 TPD Methanol Synthesis Plant for a EPC contractor for a National Thermal power Corporation of India, project. The project scope includes engineering for Mechanical systems, Instrumentation and Controls and Electrical along with integration engineering with existing plant (CO2 Plant & H2 Plant). This project has given us an opportunity for our team members to gain extensive experience for performing new projects in the green hydrogen space in the coming year. We have a an inhouse multi disciplinary engineering team with additional vast availability of design engineers within our group companies and we are looking to partner with new clients in 2024 to support their engineering needs.
- As part of a multi-national entity, with roots in India, how do you perceive the Norwegian Hydrogen market?
With Norway’s advanced technology and world class infrastructure, We see the Norwegian Hydrogen market much ahead of other geographies and leading the world in this green transition. We see ample room to partner with companies in the Norwegian Hydrogen market within the engineering space and co-create economies of scale.
- What are your motivation and wishes for cooperation with partners of the Norwegian Hydrogen Cluster?
FloatOcean would like to share engineering know how within the cluster and be a centre of excellence for Engineering in India for companies operating in the Hydrogen cluster in Norway.
